Introduction to Carbon Market Trading & Finance

A Comprehensive Half-Day Classroom Seminar (CPE Approved)
Taught by carbon expert and best selling author of “What Went Wrong at Enron” Peter C. Fusaro
September 9th, New York City - The Torch Club (NYU Campus), 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm

The U.S. is about to enter the carbon constrained world. Today, we are facing impending federal carbon cap and trade legistlation in 2009 when the next president takes office. Already states on both coasts and the Midwest are already implementing carbon regulation. However, there is much confusion on how these markets develop. Peter Fusaro has been actively engaged on energy and environmental issues for over 32 years from both public policy and capital markets, and has been involved in climate change initiatives since 1990. This market is very complex and can be hard for the layman to understand. Peter’s insights into carbon market developments are now sought by industry professionals, financial institutions, technology companies and policy makers in order to simplify market design as well as identify investment opportunities. Recognizing the need for his unique expertise, Peter is offering a continuously revised three hour course on carbon market developments in the U.S. and Europe from 2008 due to the dynamism of the market and policy developments.

Since December 2006, more than 700 professionals have taken Peter Fusaro’s webinars, classroom seminars, and in-house trainings on green trading, cleantech & emissions trading, renewable energy trading and carbon market developments. He offers a 3 hour “Introduction to Carbon Markets and Finance.” He has called this course the “Frontiers of Environmental Finance,” and has taught it for 5 years to electric utility professionals in Tucson, members of the Cleantech Venture Network as well as in-house to U.S. corporations and trade associations. He has taught various components of this course to over 300 graduate students at the University of Michigan's Erb Institute, Tepper School at Carnegie-Mellon University, various colleges at Columbia University, MIT’s Sloane School, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School, London Business School, Baruch University's Weissman Center for International Business and the Smith School at the University of Maryland under the auspices of “sustainable finance”, renewable energy, venture capital or private equity topics. Peter has written the definitive text on the “New Green Business Model” in a book called “Cut Carbon, Grow Profits” published in March of 2007 by Middlesex University Press in the UK. Course attendees will receive this chapter in addition to much background materials aside from the course syllabus. View Past Seminar Attendees
